King Power Stadium will host England's key FIFA Women's World Cup play-off against Greece on Tuesday 13 October. This is the third time the Leicester City home ground has been chosen to stage a Lionesses international.

The fixture is the second leg of the Round 1 play-off, with the first leg scheduled for the Pankritio Stadium in Heraklion on Friday 9 October. These matches represent the first ever senior women's international meetings between England and Greece. Both legs will be broadcast live on ITV Sport.

England Head Coach Sarina Wiegman is focused on the task ahead, with her team's recent form showing they have scored 12 goals in their last three competitive matches. "I am looking forward to getting the squad back together after having four months away," Wiegman said. "We know what our objective is for these two games and exactly what we need to do to qualify for next summer’s tournament in Brazil.

Leicester City Chief Executive Kevin Davies welcomed the announcement. "We are proud to have been chosen to host England’s Lionesses for a third time and look forward to working with The FA to deliver another memorable evening at King Power Stadium," he said.

More than 25,000 fans were also present for England's 7-0 friendly win against Jamaica in June 2025.

Leicester City Women's season

The Foxes then marked their first home game of the season with a 4-2 victory over Durham on 13 September. Goals from Petra Nystrom, Julie Ziu and Aino Ale secured the three points in an entertaining contest at King Power Stadium.
